His Face

My Comment:
This is a poem about ‘seeing’ God. Of course I am aware that in our human state we do not see Him, and yet I would suggest to you that there are many ways of ‘seeing.’ Seeing Him in the realm of beauty, especially if that beauty is a part of nature is, for me, a natural part of living. Where better to see Him than in the creation which He made…the beauty, the peace, the comfort of His presence as well as the comfort of His promise “if you seek me you will find me.” Here is my poem:

Soft falls the night, pensive, still
Wrapping arms of silence
About the woods and hills.
But if you listen closely
There is something you will hear
The echoes of His greatness
Whispering in your ear.
And if you’ll then remember
To look up and seek His face
You’ll see His pure reflection
In beauty’s warm embrace.
Feel Him settle ’round you’
Experience His grace
In one of nature’s moments
You will have seen His face.

  3. True blessing and truth. This is another great piece. One comment though..
“But if you listen closely” — don’t you meant “But if you…” and not “But of you…”?
If not, I’m a little confused, but that’s nothing new, lol.
Keep speaking His truth as He communes with your spirit.

    1. Hi Marcus!
I have not had access to my computer for three weeks so mail has really stacked up. First, I want to thank you for catching my ‘of/if’ error in His Face. I do so appreciate that (and you) for taking the time to let me know. Second, there is nothing quite like an appreciative reader…I’m sure you know that from experience, and it really does mean a lot to me, not only the comment but what you had to say. It is the kind of comment that keeps me writing, although in truth, I would keep on writing without any comments because it is something within that demands it. Good to hear from you, and I hope that you are still making progress.

      1. Hey Marie. I noticed you hadn’t written anything in a while and I hoped that you were still here just not getting to your PC for a while. Very glad that was true. It’s good to have you back “on the air waves” as it were … Things progress with me, sometimes slow- I’m sure you’ve encountered it. Thank the Lord you’re back 🙂 You were missed!
