The Depths of the Sea

Imagination
takes me down
Into the depths
Of a murky sea
For it is there an
Ancient vessel lies
Buried in sand and debris.
She still stands proud
In her rusted coat
Even without her colors high
For she’s wrapped in
Seaweeds ancient gray
That dangles from her sky
It keeps her warm some say
Protecting from wind and storm;
It also ties her to the rock
That contrived to do her in.

The Shipwreck
