Upward Bound — Revelation

A protective moose, an aide to survival.
This is my rendition of a Moose in a protective Mood, even as Upward Bound lives to protect the innocent.

Revelation:

You may not know that Upward  Bound has been my blog name since the beginning for me on ‘wordPress in the year 2013. It has been a wonderful experience for  me and I am grateful to ‘wordPress for all that I have learned. I have become weary at times and thought that I needed to make a change and did and I was gone for about a year. But I kept my title and that is what I would like to share with you.

When it came time to find a name I probably tried out a half dozen at least. Some of the names were excellent and would have served my goal well, but I felt that I was moving in a wrong direction. Don’t misunderstand me, not wrong as in wrong to do, but by way of betraying something and that something was myself as a servant of God.

You would have to understand that I selected Upward Bound because it rings true about how I planned to focus. I have searched for causes to support that approach a certain ideal but I would not have you believe that every post made comes directly from the Bible. However, what I try to find and also what I love to write about can be called spirituality. My first two books are books that focus on a certain type of religion, but I don’t consider it religion, I believe it is way past a religious outlook, it is therefore, to me, spiritual. How did I come to that conclusion? It was a result of reading from the Bible and eventually moving from ‘reading’ to studying.  Those first things that I remember from the beginning of such study had to do basically with people; isn’t that what we go for in books that we read randomly today? It is the people we get interested in. After many sessions of reading, and learning I began to see how those who were being taught were making an effort to pull away from God’s teaching, to be on the level with Him, to cease to learn in a rare relationship that was meant for humans as we strained to reach a goal that of which we were still unaware. We, in our self-satisfaction rebelled and told our God that we preferred to choose our own way. In so doing we are not following God, but our own whim.

This is where I come in. I am not alone, I am quite sure, and I am not trying to convert anyone to what I do. What I do want is to be a person who loves God to the extent that I want to be here, wherever I am, as a follower of God. For me, choosing a title for my blog was an act of spirituality. When I write this piece about myself and my studies, it is a critical affair for me. It is not easy to find the best words to explain what I do and how I do it. But I would like you to know that I don’t do it lightly. I hope that you will see God in whatever it is that I do, whether it is an article, specifically writing about a text, choosing pictures that reveal love for God, a funny poem or video, my goal is to honor him and it is my hope that in knowing that, you will become a partner in helping me to do that.  Thank you for your interest, your appreciation or what you dislike about my blog. Please, be sure to sign up for your availability…address, phone, and of course your name and how you can be reached.
