Oh moon, so hugely round and bright
How regally you rule the night
Unknown by mortals are the ways
By which you measure tides and days
And touch the wounded heart in pain
With promise of fresh hope to claim.
Unfazed by clouds or stormy might
You span the dark with ancient light
Trailing glory through paths of old
Completing tasks as you’ve been told
And in the doing angels sing
Mighty anthems to the King
Who charted all your paths and ways
Then credits you for nights of praise.
To gaze on Him with unveiled face
Transforms the beholder with endless grace
Who reflects new glory (not his own)
But wholly His for which He’s known.
