Poem Seashell -1975

                                               THE SEA SHELL

                                          Marie Hunter Atwood

                                           Delicately planned,

                                            Exquisitely wrought

                                            What destiny

                                            Do you fulfill

                                            When, robbed of life

                                            You float ashore?

                                            Is it chance or fate

                                            That sweeps you up

                                            ‘Mid bursting foam

                                            To rest at last

                                            On burning sand,

                                            Barren, empty?’
